"EDI Document reconciliation and tracking has been a huge problem within our 16 Manufacturing plants. The ASN's (856) and Invoices (810) go out on a daily basis. The customer would send in a Functional Acknowledgement (997) to show that they received the document. The plant would then have to read the report the next day to match up the outbound documents with the 997 and determine if there was a problem. This would cause a lot of manual effort on the part of the plant personnel. The shipping people would reconcile the 856's and the accounting people would have to reconcile the 810's. They would also have to find out if a 824 or 861 came back to show them if they had a problem with the document they received. The material manager's would need to know if any orders came in from certain customers and what certain Purchase Numbers came in. They would have to read through a report to find the order. If it did not come in that day, they would have wasted that time looking for it."
"Since ecDocmanager has been installed here, It has the potential of reducing the manual reconciliation effort that happens everyday. The plants can run a report to see if their 856's or 810's were sent out and acknowledged. That report would only run only a few seconds and give them only exceptions if they happen. They can also see if a certain order or schedule they were waiting for has arrived instead of looking through a report everyday. The history of a document can also be tracked inside this product by means of a unique document reference number you define for your business. A PO Number for an 850 or a release id for a schedule can be tracked and be used to find the original document and report. The query possibilities are very powerful and many different types of reports can be developed to monitor our inbound and outbound documents. It can also be an alerting system if a problem presents itself in a document. A rejection from a Application Advice (824) could cause a non-payment if you are on an Evaluated Receipts Settlements (ERS) plan with your customer. This happened to us to the tone of over $800,000."
